Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): As part of the campaign to make Punjab completely drug-free, another significant step has been taken under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the guidance of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh. A ‘Methadone Clinic’ has been launched at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital—affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot-to provide scientific treatment for individuals struggling with drug addiction. The Punjab Government will provide medication to needy patients at this clinic entirely free of cost.
University committed to implementing the ‘Drug-Free Punjab’ vision at the grassroots level: Vice-Chancellor
Sharing details about this important initiative, Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University, stated that the university and all its institutions are fully committed to implementing the Punjab Government’s vision of a ‘Drug-Free Punjab’ at the grassroots level. The launch of the Methadone Clinic will prove to be a lifesaver for patients trapped in the quagmire of drug addiction. He further added that this scientific and effective treatment would enable patients to overcome their addiction and lead a dignified, healthy life in society once again. Dr. Sood urged needy patients and their families to make the most of this free government facility without any hesitation.

Patients are required to visit the clinic in person every day for the therapy.
Medication dispensing time: The scheduled time for dispensing medication at the clinic is from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
