Faridkot Police’s ‘Operation Prahar 3.0’: Major crackdown on drug smugglers and gangsters; over 130 accused arrested

Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Faridkot Police has achieved significant success under the ‘War Against Drugs’ and ‘War Against Gangsters’ campaigns launched by the Punjab government. Under ‘Operation Prahar 3.0’—conducted on the instructions of Punjab DGP Sh. Gaurav Yadav and under the guidance of IG (Faridkot Range) Smt. Nilambari Jagdale (IPS) and SSP Faridkot Sh. Gurbans Singh Bains—the police took stringent action. Various police teams carried out massive, simultaneous raids on suspected hideouts of criminal elements.

During this special operation, the police achieved major breakthroughs while tightening the legal noose; details are provided below:
Category of Crime / Action / Number of Arrests:
Accused in serious crimes: More than four dozen (48) accused—wanted in various serious cases and absconding for a long time—have been arrested.
Other arrests: Additionally, around 100 other accused involved in various crimes have been taken into custody; cases have been registered against them, and legal proceedings have been initiated.
Drug smugglers: Over 30 smugglers have been arrested during the operation against drug trafficking.
Proclaimed Offenders (POs): Three criminals declared Proclaimed Offenders (POs) by various courts have been put behind bars.
Weapon recovery: Police also recovered 02 illegal pistols during the raids. Police Administration Claims: ‘Operation Still Underway’
According to the Faridkot Police, the campaign to make the district crime-free is ongoing, and a close watch is being kept on suspects.

Speaking on the matter, police officials reiterated that the Faridkot Police is fully committed to eradicating crime from the district and providing a safe, fear-free environment for the general public. They issued a stern warning that no miscreant or criminal element violating the law would be spared, and strict action would be taken against such individuals in accordance with the law.
