Faridkot Police Conducts Flag March Ahead of Elections; Security Tightened Across the District…

Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): The Faridkot Police have geared up to ensure that the upcoming Municipal Council elections are conducted in a completely peaceful, fair, and transparent manner. Under the able leadership of Faridkot SSP Dr. Pragya Jain, an impressive flag march—involving a heavy police contingent—was conducted on Friday across all three sub-divisions of the district: Faridkot, Kotkapura, and Jaito.
The police administration has sent a clear message that no form of disturbance or lawlessness will be tolerated during the elections. To this end, leveraging modern technology, a strict vigil is being maintained—from urban centers to rural villages—through the use of CCTV cameras and drones.
**Security Tightened Across All Three Sub-Divisions; Details of the March:**
Flag marches were conducted across the district’s three main regions under the supervision of police officials.
The details are as follows:
**Faridkot City:** Led by DSP (Sub-division) Mr. Tarlochan Singh, this march commenced at the Mini Secretariat. It subsequently passed through various sensitive areas of the district, traversing via Bhai Ghanaiya Chowk, Ghanta Ghar Chowk, and Kamina Chowk.
**Kotkapura City:** Under the leadership of DSP (Sub-division) Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and local Station House Officers (SHOs), police teams initiated their march from Bhatia Wala Chowk, proceeding through the city’s main markets and sensitive locations.
**Jaito Region:** DSP (Sub-division) Mr. Iqbal Singh, along with the police force, began their march from the Jaito Police Station, establishing their presence across all major parts of the city.
**500 Police Personnel Take Charge; SSP Appeals to the Public**
SSP Dr. Pragya Jain stated that approximately 500 police personnel—including Gazetted Police Officers, ARP (Area Rapid Patrol) teams, PCR (Police Control Room) teams, and traffic police staff—participated in this special initiative. “The primary objective of conducting continuous flag marches is to instill a sense of security among the general public and voters, enabling them to exercise their franchise without any fear, intimidation, or inducement. We are keeping a vigilant watch over sensitive areas, and no mischievous element will be spared,” stated Dr. Pragya Jain, SSP Faridkot.
The SSP issued a clear warning that if any complaints regarding the distribution of intoxicants, intimidation, or the offering of any form of inducement are received from anywhere during the elections, the police will immediately initiate extremely strict legal action.
A Special Appeal from the Police Administration to the Public:
To maintain law and order, the police have also appealed to citizens for their cooperation. If any citizen spots an unattended object or a suspicious individual, they are urged to report it immediately to the nearest police station or the police helpline number.
