Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Prioritizing the city’s development and ease of doing business, Faridkot MLA S. Gurditt Singh Sekhon held a crucial meeting today with the District Trade Union at the local Line Market. The primary objective of this meeting was to understand the daily difficulties faced by traders and to resolve them on the spot.
Heated Discussions on Key Issues:
During the meeting, representatives of the trading community expressed their concerns regarding the city’s deteriorating civic infrastructure. The discussion focused primarily on the following issues:
Traffic Management: The inconvenience caused to customers and traders due to uncontrolled traffic within the markets.
Lack of Parking: Traffic congestion in the markets resulting from the absence of organized parking facilities.
Sanitation and Security: The persistent decline in sanitation standards and the demand for robust security arrangements within the markets.
MLA Sekhon’s Blunt Message to Officials: ‘Negligence Will Not Be Tolerated’
After listening to the traders’ grievances, MLA Sekhon issued stern directives to the officials from various departments present at the venue. He made the following points clear:
1. Bridge the Coordination Gap: All departments must establish mutual coordination to streamline traffic management and sanitation systems.
2. Government Stands with Traders: The Punjab government is committed to safeguarding the interests of the trading community, and their issues will be resolved on a priority basis.
3. Appeal for Cooperation: The MLA also urged the traders to cooperate with the administration by adhering to the rules and regulations, thereby contributing to the effort to make the city beautiful and developed.
