All India Mushaira ‘Bazm-e-Sheer-o-Tarab’ at Government College, Faridkot Proves Memorable,

-A Joint Endeavor by Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College of Education and the ‘Sur-Aangan’ Organization—-
Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): An All India Mushaira titled ‘Bazm-e-Sheer-o-Tarab’ was organized at the Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College of Education, Faridkot, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan and in collaboration with the musical organization ‘Sur-Aangan’. During this literary event, renowned poets of Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu—hailing from various corners of the country—mesmerized the audience with their poetic compositions.
Commencement with Musical Melodies:
The program commenced with a performance of the ‘Sur-Aangan Dhuni’ (Sur-Aangan Anthem) by artists from the Sur-Aangan group. Artist Harshvardhan garnered resounding applause for his rendition of Dr. Rajesh Mohan’s composition, ‘Shayar Keh Kamal Da Nagma Banaliya’ (The Poet Spoke Wonders and Crafted a Melody). Following this, Kirandeep presented a famous composition by Suraiya Multanikari, and the team subsequently infused the atmosphere with musical harmony by performing Surjit Patar’s memorable composition, ‘Jaga De Momabattiyan’ (Light Up the Candles).
Renowned Poets Captivate the Audience:
The second phase of the Mushaira featured the participation of poets from across the nation, including:
From Mumbai: Ruchi Drolia; from Chandigarh: Musawwar Ferozepuri; from Batala: Surinder Singh; from Sri Muktsar Sahib: Shri Satish Bedag; from Jalandhar: Shri Pramod Kaafir; from Ferozepur: Harmeet Vidyarthi; and from Faridkot: Manjit Puri and Dr. Rajesh Mohan. The Mushaira was presided over by the renowned poet Vijay Vivek, whose poetry thoroughly entertained the students and literature enthusiasts in attendance. Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan also presented his own poetic works in both Punjabi and Urdu. Student Presentations and Honors:
Prior to the *Mushaira* (poetic symposium), a vibrant cultural program was presented by the college’s Language and Music Clubs. Spanning approximately four hours, this program left an indelible mark on the literary circles of the region. At the conclusion of the event, all the visiting poets were specially felicitated.
Present on this occasion were Sagar Malik (Punjabistan), Aruna Randev, Satish Randev, and Gurwinder Aulakh, along with the entire college staff and a large number of students. Dr. Rajesh Mohan and Manjit Puri jointly anchored the stage proceedings.
