Sangrur (Alexander D’Souza): Mr. Jatinder Masih Gaurav, Chairman of the Punjab State Minority Commission, arrived at the Deputy Commissioner’s office today to hold a special meeting with the Sangrur district administration. Upon his arrival at the district headquarters, he was accorded a warm welcome by the administration, while a contingent of the Punjab Police honored him by presenting a ‘Guard of Honour.’
**Grievances Resolved on the Spot**
Following the welcome ceremony, a significant meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Mr. Gaurav to address and resolve the issues faced by minority communities. Representatives from various minority sections—including the Christian community—participated in this meeting in large numbers. People presented their grievances and highlighted administrative hurdles before the Chairman; responding swiftly, Mr. Gaurav issued strict directives to the officials present on the spot to provide immediate solutions.
**Firm Stance on Shortage of Cemeteries:**
During the meeting, the issue regarding the shortage of cemeteries for minorities remained a prominent topic of discussion. Taking serious cognizance of this grave matter, the Chairman issued orders to the Deputy Commissioner of Sangrur, directing that a detailed report be submitted to the Commission within 15 days regarding any areas in the district where there is a problem concerning cemeteries or a shortage of land for the same.

No injustice whatsoever will be allowed to be inflicted upon any member of a minority community at the administrative level, and their voices will always be raised loud and clear”: Mr. Jatinder Masih Gaurav, Chairman, Punjab State Minority Commission.
Mr. Gaurav further clarified that the government and the administration are accountable for fulfilling the legitimate demands of minorities, and any form of delay in this regard will not be tolerated.
