2027 Strategy: From the Soil of Moga, Amit Shah Declares—’Only Modi Can Save Punjab from Drugs and Debt’
-BJP Stages a Major Show of Strength at Kili Chahal’s ‘Badlav Rally’ (Rally for Change);
-Home Minister Labels the ‘AAP’ Government as Kejriwal’s ‘ATM’;
-Claim: Just Like in Odisha and Tripura, a BJP Government Will Be Formed in Punjab Too-19% Vote Share Guarantees Victory—
Faridkot/Moga/Kili Chahal (Alexander D’Souza): Union Home Minister Amit Shah today sounded the bugle for the 2027 Punjab Assem
bly elections through a historic ‘Badlav Rally’ (Rally for Change) held at Kili Chahal in Moga. Expressing deep concern over the current situation in Punjab, Shah made it clear that only the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can rescue Punjab from the menace of drugs, debt, corruption, and gangsterism. “Bhagwant Mann is Not the Chief Minister; He is Kejriwal’s ‘Pilot'”:
Addressing the rally, Amit Shah launched a scathing political attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He stated that in Punjab—a state that has filled the nation’s granaries and guarded its borders—there is today no such thing as a ‘government.’ Shah remarked sarcastically, “Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is merely playing the role of a ‘pilot’ to ferry Arvind Kejriwal to other states. The Punjab government has become Kejriwal’s ‘ATM,’ where Punjab’s resources are being plundered.”
**Accountability for Broken Promises: Where Did the 2.5 Million Jobs Go?**
Reminding the incumbent government of its pledges, the Home Minister questioned: “Where have the 2.5 million jobs—and the claims of eradicating drug abuse within four months—gone?” He stated that neither were the promised 16,000 clinics established, nor did the elderly receive the promised pension of ₹2,500. The promises of generating ₹20,000 crore in revenue from mining and providing MSP (Minimum Support Price) for all crops have also proven to be hollow.
**BJP’s Vision for 2027: A Drug-Free Punjab Within Two Years**
Citing statistics, Shah noted that in the 2024 elections, the BJP secured 19% of the votes in Punjab. He asserted, “History bears witness that wherever we have garnered 19% of the vote share, the BJP has gone on to form the government in the subsequent election—be it in Odisha or Tripura.” “Now, it is Punjab’s turn.” He announced that within two years of forming the government in 2027, Punjab would be made drug-free.
Strict laws will be enacted to curb religious conversions.
Gangsters will be eliminated, and peace will be restored.
The Modi Government’s Initiatives for the Sikh Community:
Enumerating the Modi government’s commitment to the Sikh faith, Amit Shah highlighted decisions such as the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, the observance of ‘Veer Bal Diwas,’ and the exemption of GST on *Langar*. Raising the issue of the 1984 riots, he took aim at Rahul Gandhi, stating that it was the Modi government that reopened 350 cases and ensured the perpetrators were sent to jail.
BJP’s Unity:
A large number of leaders were present at the rally, including State President Sunil Jakhar, Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu, Tarun Chugh, and Ashwani Sharma. Jakhar vowed to fight for the honor of Punjab until his very last breath. The massive turnout has made it evident that the BJP is emerging as a major force in Punjab’s politics in the times to come.
