Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, has taken a historic step towards further strengthening academic transparency, quality assurance, and student-centric governance. For the first time, the university has released its ‘University Course Policy.’ This significant publication provides accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible information in one place regarding all academic courses offered under the university.
While releasing this policy document, the university’s Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood, stated that this course policy symbolizes the university’s commitment to academic excellence, transparency, and quality education.

This publication is not merely a general prospectus but has been designed as a reliable guide for students and parents. It includes the following important information:

Education is the Foundation of Nation-Building: Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood
While launching the policy, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sood placed special emphasis on the importance of education. The key points of his address are as follows:
Education is the foundation of knowledge, innovation, and nation-building in the country. In alignment with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, BFUHS is consistently promoting high-quality education, multidisciplinary studies, research, innovation, and skill-based training. He further stated that the policy’s primary objective is to strengthen the trust students and their families place in the university, enabling students to make informed and prudent decisions regarding their bright futures without any ambiguity.
Roadmap for the Future: 20 New Policy Documents to be Released
The Vice-Chancellor commended the contributions of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), as well as the principals, faculty, and staff of affiliated colleges, who played a pivotal role in preparing this publication. Outlining the future roadmap, he noted that this publication marks just the beginning of major institutional initiatives; in the near future, the IQAC will prepare and release approximately 20 comprehensive policy documents covering both academic and administrative domains.
Uniformity and Improvement: These new documents will strengthen the university’s administration, bring uniformity to administrative processes, and align the university with national and international standards.
Seeking Feedback from the Public and Stakeholders:
The university has also invited feedback to enhance the effectiveness of this initial edition. The Vice-Chancellor has encouraged the academic community, students, and the general public to share their valuable suggestions and feedback to help improve future editions and subsequent policy documents.
With this initiative, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences has once again reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and the holistic development of health education in the country.
