Baba Farid University: Certificates and Kits Distributed Under Skill Development Scheme

Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has achieved a significant milestone in its endeavor to make the youth of Punjab skilled and self-reliant. During a special felicitation ceremony organized for students of the ‘Health Skill Development Center’—operated by the university—successful candidates were presented with certificates and training kits.
Training Received Under Key Schemes:
During the ceremony, students who had completed their training under the Central Government’s prestigious schemes—PM VIKAS and PMKVY 4.0—were honored. The details of the distribution are as follows:
• Orthopedic Techniques: 17 Students.
• Geriatric Caregiver (Batch 1): 23 Students.
• Geriatric Caregiver (Batch 2): 11 Students. Additionally, under the PMKVY 4.0 scheme, two batches of students—training as ‘Panchakarma Assistants’ and ‘Emergency Medical Technicians’—were also provided with training kits to aid them in their studies.
“The Future in Healthcare is Bright”: While distributing the certificates, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Sood, stated that the university is committed to equipping the youth of Punjab with expertise in health services, aligned with current industry demands. In collaboration with the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM), all these courses are being offered completely free of cost. The future of the healthcare sector is promising, and this training is set to prove a milestone in making the youth self-reliant.
