‘First Aid’ Workshop Concludes at University College of Nursing: Nursing Students Become ‘Lifesavers’ Through Mock Drills and Dramatisation’s,

Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): A two-day ‘First Aid’ workshop successfully concluded at the University College of Nursing, Faridkot, operating under the aegis of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. Organized under the expert guidance of Principal Dr. Hardeep Kaur Mall, the primary objective of this workshop was to prepare nursing students to provide life-saving services during emergency situations.
**Mastering the Nuances Through Mock Drills: Training Beyond Textbooks**
During the workshop, B.Sc. Nursing (Part I) students were provided with detailed instruction regarding the First Aid protocols to be administered for various ailments and sudden emergency situations.
A standout feature of this training was that the students were not confined merely to lectures. **Dramatization and Acting under Expert Supervision:** Students brought various emergency scenarios to life through theatrical performances.
**Mock Drills:** Practical exercises were conducted to simulate and practice handling sudden disasters or medical emergencies.
**Confidence Building:** The aim of this practical training is to boost the students’ confidence for their work in the field.

Appreciating this initiative, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Sood, stated that such skill-based programs are indispensable for grooming competent healthcare providers. First Aid training empowers students to make swift and accurate decisions during challenging circumstances.
Principal Dr. Hardeep Kaur Mall remarked that First Aid serves as the backbone of the nursing profession. She added that this workshop would prove to be a milestone in refining the clinical skills of the students. Key Contributors:
