Faridkot/Kotkapura (Alexander D’Souza): Under the “Magnificent 4 Years-Bhagwant Mann’s Years” campaign, launched to mark the completion of four successful years of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Assembly Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan appeared to be in full public-outreach mode today. He visited various wards of Kotkapura and engaged in direct dialogue with the residents.
Informal Meetings in the Wards: Today, Speaker Sandhwan held informal meetings with local residents in Ward No. 16 (Gali No. 1), Ward No. 9, and Ward No. 15. The objective of these meetings was to gather feedback on the government’s functioning and to share with the public the historic decisions taken over the past four years.
“Public Service is Our Primary Goal”: While addressing the public gatherings, S. Sandhwan stated that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has redefined the very nature of politics in Punjab. Taking aim at the opposition, he asserted that their government has not merely issued hollow declarations; rather, it has implemented every scheme at the grassroots level, ensuring its benefits reach the doorstep of the common man. Today, Punjab stands as a shining example of corruption-free and transparent governance.
Key Achievements of the Four-Year Tenure: Presenting the go to for evernment’s report card to the public, the Speaker discussed the following key highlights:
Electricity Relief: The provision of a continuous facility of 600 units of free electricity for families across all sections of society.
Education and Health: The complete revitalization of government schools and the modernization of healthcare facilities to make them accessible to the general public.
Robust Infrastructure: Laying down a network of new roads and prioritizing the repair and maintenance of existing ones.
Honest Administration: Eradicating corruption from the government machinery to ensure the delivery of transparent services to the people.
Accountability in the Court of the People: S. Sandhava emphatically stated that the ‘AAP’ government is serious about its accountability. He remarked, “Our government has neither any excuse for inaction, nor do we shift the blame onto anyone else. We are presenting our complete record of performance before the court of the people, for the people are the true masters.”
On this occasion, local leaders, ward representatives, and a large number of city residents were present. The people lauded the government’s pro-people policies and also shared their views with the Speaker.
