Faridkot, April 22 (Alexander D’Souza): As part of a special campaign launched by the Faridkot Police—aimed at strengthening community policing and raising awareness among the younger generation regarding social evils—SSP Dr. Pragya Jain visited Dashmesh Global School, Bargari, today. During the awareness seminar organized on this occasion, Dr. Jain delivered a message to the students, urging them to become responsible citizens by staying away from social ills such as drug abuse.
A Model of Dialogue: Students’ Questions, SSP’s Answers. The most engaging segment of the seminar was the ‘direct interaction’ held between the SSP and the students. The students posed highly intriguing questions regarding policing and career paths:
Career Guidance: How does one prepare to become a police officer?
Stress Management: How can one cope with the pressure of examinations and career choices?
Police Action: What is the police’s strategy against drug traffickers?
Dr. Pragya Jain addressed the children’s queries with great ease and composure. She stated that hard work, a positive mindset, and respect for time are the true keys to success. Children are the nation’s precious assets (capital), and guiding them onto the right path is a collective responsibility shared by us all.
Honoring Meritorious Talent: During this dignified ceremony, Dr. Pragya Jain honored those talented students from the school who have brought glory to the district at the national level: Student’s Name | Achievement — Ekamjot Singh | Scored 99.8% marks in Class 10 (Secured 2nd position at the National Level) — Jasnoor Kaur | National-level Netball Player — Other Students | 13 other students who demonstrated excellence in academics. Striking a Blow Against Drugs Through Art: During the event, students showcased their creativity and raised a resounding voice against drug abuse through paintings, poetry recitations, and debates. Police officials unreservedly praised the poignancy with which the adverse effects of drug abuse were depicted in the paintings created by the children.
Administrative Presence and Acknowledgement: Welcoming this initiative by the police administration, Mr. Jasbir Singh Sandhu, Director of the Dashmesh Group of Schools, stated that such events serve to boost the confidence of students.
Prominent figures present on this occasion included: Manwinder Bir Singh (SP Local), Iqbal Singh (DSP Jaito), Ajay Sharma (Principal), Gursangat Singh, Supervisor Narinder Sharma, as well as the staff of the Sanjh Kendra and the Bajakhana Police Station.
