The Full Story of the Operation: How Was the Trap Laid?
Under the supervision of CIA Staff In-charge Inspector Amrinder Singh, a team led by ASI Parminder Singh apprehended Jagdeep Deepu and Chetan near the New Grain Market on March 19. Under rigorous interrogation, the accused confessed that these foreign-made weapons were intended for further distribution. Acting on this information, the police arrested a third accomplice, Sunny Singh, near the Aircraft Ground on March 22.
The Police’s Future Strategy:
A case has been registered under the Arms Act at the City Faridkot Police Station. DSP Avtar Singh clarified that the police are now investigating their “backward and forward” linkages—that is, they are tracing the route through which these foreign weapons entered India and identifying the next intended targets of these shooters.
