Faridkot Police Launch Major Operation Against Drug Traffickers; 2 Arrested with 106 Grams of Heroin and Drug Money Worth Lakhs,

Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): The ‘War on Drugs’ campaign, currently underway in the district under the directives of Dr. Pragya Jain, SSP Faridkot, achieved a significant breakthrough when the CIA Staff Jaito arrested two drug traffickers in possession of a substantial quantity of heroin and drug money. Mr. Iqbal Singh, DSP (Sub-Division) Jaito, stated during a press conference that this operation was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Jogeshwar Singh Goraya, SP (Investigation). Arrest and Recovery:
According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Anit (a resident of Ferozepur) and Harpreet Singh alias Lavi (a resident of Jaito, Faridkot). The police party recovered the following items from their possession:
106 grams of heroin
Rs 1,17,000 (Drug Money)
01 Mobile Phone and one HF Deluxe motorcycle.
How Was the Operation Conducted?
Providing details, the DSP explained that on April 8, Darshan Singh-Assistant Police Station In-charge of CIA Staff Jaito-was patrolling with a police party and heading towards the village of Sarawa. When the police team reached ‘Pul Sua’ (the canal bridge), two youths sitting near a motorcycle under a banyan tree attempted to flee upon spotting the police vehicle. Acting on suspicion, the police intercepted them and conducted a search, during which narcotics and cash were recovered from their possession. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against them at the Jaito Police Station. Case No. 75 has been registered under various sections of the Act.
Links to the Border Area:
Initial interrogation has revealed that the accused were planning to procure this consignment from the border area and distribute it further. The police are currently attempting to ascertain the source from which these drugs were obtained and the intended destination for their subsequent sale.
Criminal Background:
During the investigation, it also came to light that the accused, Harpreet Singh alias ‘Love’, is a habitual offender with a prior criminal record; there are already four cases registered against him involving drug smuggling and other serious offenses. The police are in the process of producing both accused individuals before the court to seek their remand.
Police Appeal:
The Faridkot Police have appealed to the public to cooperate with them in their efforts to create a drug-free society and to immediately share any information they may have regarding drug smugglers.
