Faridkot Police Takes Major Action: ‘Cordon and Search Operation’ at Bus Stands Led by SSP Dr. Pragya Jain

Faridkot, April 8 (Alexander D’Souza): To bolster law and order within the district and to demoralize anti-social elements, the Faridkot Police today launched a major search operation. Under the leadership of SSP Dr. Pragya Jain (IPS), various police teams conducted surprise ‘Cordon and Search Operations’ (CASO) at the district’s main bus stands, carrying out intensive checks of suspicious individuals and vehicles.
Activity Comes to a Standstill in the Afternoon-DSP-Rank Officers Take Charge:
This special operation was conducted from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The gravity of the operation can be gauged from the fact that it was personally supervised by officers of Gazetted rank.
Cordons Established: The police completely cordoned off four major bus stands in the district, including those in Faridkot, Kotkapura, and Jaito.
Technical Checks: Every nook and cranny was searched with the assistance of anti-sabotage teams and dog squads.
Use of ‘Vahan’ App: The registration numbers of vehicles parked in the lots were verified on the spot using the ‘Vahan’ app to detect any stolen or suspicious vehicles.

Speaking to the media, SSP Dr. Pragya Jain stated that this operation was carried out in compliance with the directives issued by the DGP of Punjab, Shri Gaurav Yadav.
“The primary objective of such surprise checks is to instill fear of the police among criminals and to reinforce the sense of security in the minds of ordinary citizens. We are committed to ensuring that Faridkot remains completely safe and secure,” said Dr. Pragya Jain, SSP Faridkot. Deployment of 50 Personnel, Yet No Inconvenience Caused to the Public:
A force comprising approximately 50 police personnel was deployed for this entire operation. The SSP stated that strict instructions were issued to the police teams to ensure that no ordinary traveler or law-abiding citizen faced any inconvenience during the checking process. The police personnel discharged their duties while treating the general public with courtesy.
The police administration has clarified that such surprise search operations will continue day and night in the coming days in order to crack down on anti-social elements.
