Indiscriminate use of mobile phones signals a serious threat to society: Shri Krishna R.A.
-Phone usage while driving is becoming a cause of accidents; appeal to parents to save children from this quagmire…

Faridkot, June 19 (Alexander D’Souza): In today’s era, advancements in science and technology have reached their peak, resulting in an unprecedented rise in the prevalence of social media and digital devices. Social media, mobile phones, and computers have become an integral part of human life. Whether children or the elderly, everyone appears glued to their mobile screens. The situation is such that if you look around, approximately 95 to 96 percent of people will be seen using mobile phones.
Shri Krishna R.A., a retired officer of the Punjab State Electricity Board and Chief Advisor to the Lord Buddha Charitable Trust (LBCT), has described this addiction to mobile phones in society as a sign of serious danger. Expressing concern, he stated that if this addiction is not brought under control in time, it could prove fatal for society as a whole. He has strongly appealed to the general public to use mobile phones in a disciplined and proper manner.
Key problems arising from the growing misuse of mobile phones:
Shri Krishna R.A. has outlined the adverse effects of excessive mobile usage primarily into four categories:
Fatal accidents: Many people remain engrossed in their mobile phones even while driving, which leads to distraction and is a major cause of serious road accidents. Such individuals put not only their own lives but also the lives of others at risk.
Impact on mental health: Excessive use of mobile phones pushes individuals towards mental stress. Such a person gradually falls prey to irritability, depression, and behavioral changes.
Physical ailments: Indiscriminate use not only wastes precious time but also has a detrimental effect on health. Prolonged screen time is weakening eyesight, and keeping the neck bent while using a phone has made conditions like cervical spine issues commonplace.
Growing distance in relationships: A person addicted to mobile phones becomes isolated even while surrounded by loved ones. They become so engrossed in the virtual world that real-life relationships and the social fabric lose their significance.
An appeal to safeguard the nation’s future
“I earnestly urge all parents to protect their children from this harmful mobile phone addiction. Only by pulling children out of this quagmire can we ensure a secure and bright future for the country”: Shri Krishna R.A. (Chief Advisor, LBCT).
