Faridkot Police Strike Big: ‘Most Wanted’ Criminal-Wanted in 13 Heinous Cases-Arrested with Weapons,


-Stolen Bike and Illegal Firearms Recovered; Fugitive Accused Dilpreet ‘Mahanti’ Was Plotting a Major Crime—-
Faridkot, April 15 (Alexander D’Souza): The Faridkot District Police have achieved a major breakthrough as part of their ongoing campaign against criminal elements. By apprehending a dangerous criminal-along with illegal weapons and a stolen motorcycle-the police have successfully foiled a conspiracy to commit a potentially major crime.
Major Police Operation Led by the SSP:
Providing details regarding the case, SSP Faridkot Dr. Pragya Jain (IPS) stated that the police remain fully committed to strengthening the security apparatus within the district. This operation was executed by a team from the CIA Staff, Jaito, under the guidance of SP (Investigation) Mr. Jogeshwar Singh and DSP Mr. Avtar Singh.
How Was the Arrest Made?
A police team, led by ASI Darshan Singh (In-charge of CIA Staff, Jaito), was on patrol duty. Acting on credible intelligence, the police cordoned off and raided the unpaved road leading from Nirankari Bhawan to Village Ajit Gill. During this operation, Dilpreet Singh alias ‘Mahanti’ (a resident of Village Koharwala) was taken into custody.
Details of Recoveries:
Weapons: 01 country-made gun (12-bore) and 04 live cartridges.
Vehicle: One Platina motorcycle without a number plate (which had been stolen recently).

Police investigations have revealed that the arrested accused possesses a long and serious criminal record:
13 Cases Registered: The accused already faces 13 heinous criminal cases, including charges of theft, extortion, and robbery.
Declared Proclaimed Offender (PO): The accused had been absconding since 2021 in connection with a case involving robbery and violations of the Arms Act, registered at the Jaito Police Station. “We are conducting an in-depth investigation to dismantle the entire supply chain of illegal weapons and the network behind it. No mischievous element that disturbs the peace of society will be spared,” stated Dr. Pragya Jain, SSP Faridkot.
Further Action:
A fresh case has been registered against the accused at the Jaito Police Station under sections of the Arms Act and the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita). The police are preparing to produce the accused before the court to seek remand, with the aim of ascertaining the source of the illegal weapons and identifying his next intended target in the coming days.
