Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): A high-level delegation from the Lord Buddha Charitable Trust (LBCT)-a leading non-governmental social service organization-held a special meeting today with Dr. Rajiv Sood, the Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, at his office. Led by the Trust’s Founder Chairman Jagdish Rai Dhosiwal and District President Jagdish Raj Bharti, the delegation highly praised Dr. Sood for the administrative reforms currently being implemented within the University.
Discussion on Employee Issues and Transparent Appointments:
During the meeting, Mr. Dhosiwal stated that under Dr. Sood’s leadership, issues concerning the University’s employees are being resolved on a priority basis. He noted that the appointments and promotions being conducted within the University are entirely fair and transparent—a step that sets a commendable precedent. Increase in MBBS Seats and Expansion of Colleges:
During the discussions, it was highlighted that, thanks to Dr. Sood’s efforts, the number of MBBS seats in the University’s medical colleges has increased by several hundred. Furthermore, four district-level hospitals across Punjab have also been brought under the University’s purview. Recognizing Dr. Sood’s administrative capabilities, the State Government has also entrusted the control of approximately 200 nursing and pharmacy colleges across the state to Baba Farid University.
Pride in Becoming the Country’s Largest University:
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Rajiv Sood informed the delegation that Baba Farid University has currently emerged as the largest health sciences university in the country. He added that the recruitment process for nursing and GNM staff within the institution is also currently underway on a large scale. He gave an assurance that the all-round development of the university is his primary objective.
