Faridkot Cantt (Alexander D’Souza): Today was a day dedicated to artistic energy and renewed enthusiasm at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Faridkot Cantt. Within the school premises—and in collaboration with the ‘Roots 2 Roots’ organization—students on one hand delved into the nuances of classical music, while on the other, tiny feet took their very first steps into the world of formal education.
School Campus Resounds with Classical Vocals:
Aimed at empowering students to become torchbearers of Indian heritage, a Hindustani classical vocal workshop was organized, featuring the renowned artist Hardik Rawat. Conducted by ‘Roots 2 Roots,’ this session introduced students to both the technical aspects and the cultural significance of music.
It is worth noting that ‘Roots 2 Roots’ is a distinguished non-profit organization operational since 2004, dedicated to fostering peace and harmony across more than 100 countries worldwide through cultural exchange. The organization firmly believes that stories shared through the mediums of music and art play a pivotal role in building a just and equitable society.
‘Pravesh Utsav’ for the Little Ones: Continuing this series of events, a grand ‘Pravesh Utsav’ (Admission Festival) was organized at the school for the newly admitted students of Class 1. The school’s esteemed Principal, Dr. Sunil Kumar, extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to all the new students.
Highlights of the Welcome Ceremony:
Each child was presented with a welcome gift and a magnetic slate.
To strengthen their educational foundation, the children were gifted the ‘Vidya Pravesh’ workbook.
The Principal’s Message:
Addressing the parents during the program, Principal Dr. Sunil Kumar expressed his gratitude for the trust they have placed in the institution. Wishing the students a bright and successful future, he affirmed the school’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the holistic development of every child. With the active cooperation of the teachers and the able guidance of the Principal, this dual event was successfully concluded—an occasion that not only connected the students to their roots but also marked a positive beginning to the new academic session.
