Modi Government Has Ruined the Country’s Foreign Policy by Acting as a ‘Puppet’ of the US: Hardev Arshi,

– CPI Demands Immediate Ceasefire in the War Imposed on Iran
– State Council Meeting to be Held in Chandigarh on April 7-8; Major Agitations to be Announced
– Law and Order Collapses in Punjab; Mann Government Gives ‘Free Rein’ to the Police
Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Comrade Hardev Arshi, a National Council Member of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and former MLA, has launched a scathing attack on the Modi-led central government. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, by acting as a ‘puppet’ of the US President, has completely dismantled India’s decades-old, independent, and distinguished foreign policy.
Addressing a District Executive Meeting held at the local ‘Shaheed Comrade Amolak Singh Bhawan’—presided over by Powercom pensioners’ leader Harpal Singh Machaki—Arshi articulated the party’s stance on various international and regional issues.
Allegations of Capitulating to Foreign Powers:
Comrade Arshi stated that US imperialism is sowing global chaos in a bid to seize control of oil resources. He noted that the US administration first targeted the democratic leadership of Venezuela and is now bombing innocent civilians in Iran, with its sights set firmly on the country’s oil reserves. He asserted that India’s capitulation to the US constitutes a betrayal of the nation’s interests, resulting in the cessation of oil supplies from trusted allies such as Russia and Iran. He warned that, as a direct consequence of this conflict and the Centre’s misguided policies, the prices of fuel and cooking gas are skyrocketing—placing an unbearable financial burden directly on the pockets of the common man. During the meeting, a resolution was passed condemning the war imposed on Iran and demanding that India revert to its long-standing policy of ‘neutrality.’
The Situation in Punjab:
State Drifting Towards a ‘Police State’: Taking the Bhagwant Mann-led government of Punjab to task, Comrade Arshi declared that law and order within the state has completely collapsed. He alleged that, by granting the police a ‘free hand,’ the government has transformed Punjab into a police state.
**Upcoming Strategy and Key Participation:**
Outlining the party’s future programs, he announced that a crucial meeting of the CPI State Council has been convened at Ajay Bhawan in Chandigarh on April 7 and 8. During this meeting, a roadmap for major agitations against both the state and central governments will be formulated.
**Prominent Leaders Present at the Meeting:**
During the meeting, various distinguished leaders—including Comrade Gurnam Singh Mani Singh Wala (Farm Workers Union), Prem Chawla (Executive District Secretary), Sukhjinder Singh Tunbarbhan (Kisan Sabha), Veer Singh Kameana, Gora Pipli (NREGA Union), Gurcharan Singh Mann, Inderjit Singh Gill, Pradeep Singh Brar, Principal Gurdeep Kaur Brar, Gurdeep Singh Deep Singh Wala, and Balkar Singh Sahota—shared their views.
