Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): In accordance with the directives of the Government of India, and with the aim of making the upcoming census process more accessible and modern, a special facility for ‘Self-Enumeration’ has been provided to citizens for ‘Census 2027’.
Sharing details regarding this significant initiative, Faridkot’s Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer, Ms. Poonamdeep Kaur, stated that citizens can now visit the portal themselves to enter their details. The online window for this purpose will remain open from April 30, 2026, to May 14, 2026.
How to Perform ‘Self-Enumeration’? (Step-by-Step Guide)
The Deputy Commissioner explained that residents of the district can fill in their details by following these simple steps:
Official Portal: First, visit the official website at
http://se.census.gov.in/.
Language Selection: Select your preferred language on the portal according to your convenience.
Login Process: Enter your mobile number and log in using the One-Time Password (OTP).
Filling Details: After logging in, carefully provide the answers to the relevant questions asked on the portal.
What is the ‘SE ID’ and What Are Its Benefits?
Ms. Poonamdeep Kaur clarified that once the form is submitted, the system will generate a unique ‘Self-Enumeration ID’ (SE ID).
The key benefits of this ID are as follows:
Time Saving: When census staff (enumerators) visit your home, you will not need to provide extensive information all over again.
Easy Verification: You will simply need to present your SE ID, which will allow your previously entered information to be verified instantly.
Transparency: Since this entire process is digital, it will be more transparent and accurate. “I appeal to all residents of the district to make extensive use of this digital facility. It will not only save your time but also contribute to the successful completion of this vital task of nation-building”: Madam Poonamdeep Kaur, Deputy Commissioner.
