An Example of Humanity: Faridkot Medical Hospital Saves Abandoned Elderly Man’s Life; ‘Pingalwara’ Becomes His Refuge After Family Rejection…

Faridkot, June 9 (Alexander D’Souza): An inspiring example of humanity and selfless service has emerged from Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital in Faridkot, winning everyone’s hearts. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the hospital’s doctors and staff, not only was the life of an abandoned elderly patient saved, but he has also found a new sanctuary to live a dignified life. After being rejected by his family, the elderly man has been sent to the renowned social welfare organization ‘Pingalwara’—under the leadership of the chief caretaker of Gurdwara Langar Mata Khivi Ji—for further care.
Victim of a Road Accident 5-6 Months Ago
Providing details about the case, Captain Dharam Singh Gill stated that the elderly patient had been admitted to the hospital for approximately 5-6 months. Some time ago, following a road accident, kind-hearted social workers had admitted him to the facility in critical condition. The accident had caused a severe fracture in his leg, and his condition was worrying.
Captain Gill extended special thanks to Dr. Jagdeep Singh, Head of the Orthopedics Department, and his entire medical team. He noted that the doctors performed immediate surgery and, after months of hard work and dedicated care, fully restored the elderly man’s health.
When Family Turned Away, an Organization Stepped In:
Unfortunately, while treatment was underway, the hospital administration made significant efforts to locate the elderly man’s family. Although the family was traced, they flatly refused to visit the hospital or acknowledge and accept the elderly man.
Despite this attitude from the family, the hospital team did not give up and reached out to the renowned social welfare organization ‘Pingalwara’. Upholding the duty of humanity as always, the organization immediately stepped forward to help and agreed to take full responsibility for the elderly person’s future care.
**Transfer to Pingalwara under the Chief Caretaker’s leadership**
The Chief Caretaker of Gurudwara Sahib Langar Mata Khivi Ji and other volunteers were specially present during this emotional occasion as the elderly person was being sent to Pingalwara. The entire process of the transfer was carried out respectfully under their supervision and leadership. The spirit of service shown by the doctors, along with the collaborative efforts of the social service organizations, is being highly praised by the entire hospital staff and local residents.
