Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Late this evening, scenes of chaos and alarm unfolded at a filling station located on the Faridkot-Kotkapura road when an air tank—used for inflating vehicle tires—suddenly exploded with a tremendous blast. The explosion was so powerful that its reverberations were heard far and wide, spreading panic throughout the surrounding area.
Police Arrive at the Scene, Bring Situation Under Control:
Upon receiving information about the incident, teams from the Faridkot Police rushed to the scene without delay. Taking immediate charge of the situation, the police dispersed the crowd and cordoned off the area as a precautionary security measure. Fortunately, no individual was caught in the blast, thereby averting a major loss of life.
Why Did the Explosion Occur? (Technical Cause)
Providing details regarding the incident, Faridkot DSP (Sub-Division) Mr. Tarlochan Singh stated that the accident took place at the ‘Sahibzada Fateh Singh Filling Station.’
“Preliminary investigations reveal that the air tank overheated due to continuous operation. Unable to withstand the excessive internal pressure, the tank suddenly ruptured. This was entirely a technical accident,” said DSP Tarlochan Singh.
Do Not Heed Rumors: Police Appeal
The DSP of Faridkot has issued a special appeal to the general public and social media users, urging them not to believe or circulate any misleading reports or rumors regarding this incident.
