CM Mann’s ‘Development Bonanza’ in Jaito:
-A gift of projects worth ₹28.68 crore,
-Perpetrators of sacrilege to now face life imprisonment…

Jaito/ Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Today, from the historic soil of Jaito, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann made major announcements regarding the state’s development and politics. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for various projects worth ₹28.68 crore, dedicating them to the public. During the event, he launched sharp political barbs at his opponents and announced the introduction of strict laws to safeguard religious sentiments.
Key Announcements and Development Works:
Health Revolution: The Community Health Center in Jaito will be upgraded into a modern 30-bed hospital at a cost of ₹8 crore.
Infrastructure: A pipeline worth ₹3.01 crore will be laid to ensure a clean drinking water supply for 1,200 households in the area.
Sports and Youth: A new sports stadium will be constructed at a cost of ₹2 crore to keep the youth away from drugs and to promote sports.
Major Action on Sacrilege:
‘Justice’ to be Sealed on April 13:
Taking a historic step regarding cases of sacrilege, Chief Minister Mann announced that a special session of the Legislative Assembly has been convened for April 13. He announced:
“Those found guilty of sacrilege against religious scriptures will now face life imprisonment and will be ineligible for bail for a period of one year. We are set to introduce stringent amendments to the ‘Jagat Jyot Sri Guru Granth Sahib Sataar Act’.”
‘Political Surgical Strike’ on the Opposition:
Launching an attack on the Akali Dal and the Congress, CM Mann stated that these parties have plundered Punjab for decades.
Jibe at the Akali Dal: He dubbed their ‘Punjab Bachao Yatra’ (Save Punjab March) a ‘Parivar Bachao Yatra’ (Save the Family March), asserting that those who sheltered drug traffickers have no moral right to speak on behalf of Punjab.
Targeting the Congress: Describing the Congress as a “headless and rudderless” party, he remarked that there are currently more Chief Ministerial aspirants roaming within its ranks than actual party workers.
The 2027 Battleground: “AAP’s Pen vs. the Ink of Blood and Sacrilege”:
Referring to the upcoming elections, the Chief Minister stated that in 2027, the public will have three distinct choices. He argued that while the Congress’s pen is stained with the blood of the 1984 riots—and the Akalis’ pen with the ink of sacrilege—AAP’s pen is writing a narrative of free electricity, excellent schools, ‘Mohalla Clinics’, and financial assistance for women (₹1,000).
Present on this occasion were Cabinet Ministers Dr. Baljit Kaur and Dr. Balbir Singh, Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, and Jaito MLA Amolak Singh, alongside a massive gathering of supporters and local residents.
