Faridkot/ Makhu (Alexander D’Souza): A magnificent and spiritually enriching ‘Children’s Camp’ for the Ferozepur Zone was organized with great enthusiasm and dignity at the Church of North India (CNI) Church in Makhu. The Honorable Bishop Darbara Singh of the Diocese of Chandigarh specially attended this event. He graced the gathering of children and teachers with his holy presence and prayed that the future generation of the Christian community would receive ‘Divine Wisdom’ and blessings from God.
Future Generation Enlightened by Biblical Teachings:
The primary objective of this one-day camp was to strengthen the children in the Christian faith and prepare them to be ideal citizens of society. The camp’s central theme was the famous Bible verse from Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”-meaning, teach a child to walk the right path, and they will not stray from it when they grow up.
On this occasion, dedicated Sunday School teachers imparted moral values and Christian principles to the children in a simple yet impactful manner. Throughout the camp, the children participated with great enthusiasm and zeal in worship songs, Bible study, creative activities, and sports.
The Significance of Sunday School and the Bishop’s Message:
Highlighting the importance of Sunday School, Bishop Darbara Singh stated that Sunday School is not merely a weekly class; rather, it serves as the foundation for the character and spiritual life of the future generation of the Christian community. In today’s modern era, it is crucial to nurture children in the fear and knowledge of God so that they walk the right path instead of going astray. He commended the teachers who educated the children and made the camp a success, praying that the Lord would pour out abundant blessings upon their ministry.
Gratitude expressed to management and parents:
Praising the Lord for the successful organization of the camp, Reverend Deacon Nathaniel extended heartfelt thanks to the parents who encouraged their children to attend this spiritual camp. He also expressed special gratitude to the Sadhu Sundar Singh (CNI) Church Committee, Faridkot, the Sunday School teachers, and all the volunteers who assisted with travel and other arrangements. He further acknowledged the leadership of the CNI Church, Makhu, and the Diocese, whose support made this event in the Ferozepur Zone a historic success.
The magnificent camp concluded with prayers for the bright future of the children of the Christian community and for their continued growth in the knowledge and love of God.
Reverend Deacon Nathaniel participated in the event alongside William (Secretary, Sadhu Sundar Singh CNI Church Committee, Faridkot), Nidhi William (Sunday School teacher), and the Sunday School children.
