Ferozepur/Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): A shocking road accident took place on the Ferozepur-Fazilka (FF) main road this morning, which has shocked the entire Punjab. A heavy head-on collision took place between a Mahindra pick-up vehicle and a speeding horse trolley near the Jangawala turn near village Hussain Shah. According to the information received from the eyewitnesses, these devotees who live in Jalalabad area were going to immerse the ashes (flowers) in Beas by riding in a Mahindra pick-up vehicle. Immediately after the accident, screams erupted and blood and bodies were scattered everywhere on the highway. Passers-by and local people managed to pull the injured out of the vehicles.

After the accident, all the 14 injured were referred to Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital in Faridkot from Ferozepur in critical condition. The injured have suffered multiple trauma (serious fractures in the head, chest and arms and legs).
“The condition of 5 patients is very serious and they have been immediately shifted to the ICU. The team of neuro and general surgery doctors are treating them on the basis of priority. About 7 to 8 patients are from the orthopedic (bone disease) department, whose condition will be operated after stabilization.
