Faridkot/Dharamkot/Moga (Alexander D’Souza): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann launched a scathing attack on traditional political parties on Saturday, declaring that the era of power circles and backroom politics in the state has ended forever. Addressing a massive public gathering at the grain market (Dana Mandi) in Dharamkot, the Chief Minister took aim at the Congress and the Akali Dal, stating that those who spent decades ruining Punjab’s youth and law-and-order situation are today merely pretending to lecture others on governance. Gifts of Development: Major Investment in Education and Healthcare:
Prior to the rally, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a ‘School of Eminence’ in the village of Bajeke, a project estimated to cost ₹19.76 crore. He announced that this school, spread across 7 acres, would feature high-tech laboratories, a sports ground, and free coaching for students preparing for the JEE and NEET entrance examinations. Additionally, a project to upgrade the hospital in Dharamkot into a Sub-Divisional Hospital—at an estimated cost of ₹18 crore—was also formally launched.
Sharp Taunts Directed at Opponents:
The Chief Minister challenged the Congress and Akali leaders to reveal how much money they spend merely to mobilize crowds for their rallies. In contrast, he noted, people attend AAP rallies voluntarily, driven by their love and trust. He further asserted that the opposition parties have lost all credibility and have united solely to target Bhagwant Mann; however, their defeat in the 2027 elections is clearly visible.
Guarantees Fulfilled in Just 4 Years: Mann claimed that his government has successfully fulfilled all the guarantees it had promised within a span of just four years. He stated, “We are lifting Punjab out of 70 years of neglect. We still have one year remaining, and we will not waste a single day.”
The Significance of the Vote and Women’s Empowerment:
Issuing a word of caution to the public, the Chief Minister remarked that a vote is not merely a mark; it represents the future of our children. Pressing the wrong button could set Punjab back by five years. He further asserted that the AAP government has truly empowered mothers and sisters by treating them with dignity and respect, whereas the opposition remains focused solely on its own families and nephews.
Key Highlights:
Healthcare Revolution: 881 ‘Aam Aadmi Clinics’ and free medical treatment worth up to ₹10 lakh for every resident (under the ‘Chief Minister’s Health Scheme’).
Electricity: Zero electricity bills for 90% of households, along with uninterrupted daytime power supply for farmers.
Anti-Drug Campaign: Under the ‘War Against Drugs’ initiative, supply lines have been severed, and traffickers have been sent to jail. Education: Four ‘Schools of Eminence’ established in Moga district through comprehensive revitalization efforts (located at Landhe Ke, Baghapurana, Nihal Singh Wala, and Baje Ke).
