‘Ankur Narula Ministries’ Pledges Assistance for the Release of Indigent Inmates Detained Due to Unpaid Fines…

Amritsar (Alexander D’Souza): Mr. Jatinder Masih Gaurav, Chairman of the Punjab State Minority Commission, paid a special visit to Amritsar Central Jail today. During this visit, he met with all inmates-including those belonging to minority communities-and reviewed the basic amenities being provided to the prisoners by the jail administration.
Inspection of Religious Sites and Assurance of Facilities:
During the tour, Chairman Jatinder Masih Gaurav closely inspected the various religious sites situated within the jail complex. He immediately contacted the jail administration on the spot and issued directives to ensure that necessary supplies for these religious sites are provided without delay, enabling inmates to offer worship and prayers in accordance with their faith without any hindrance.
A Step Towards Reformation: Oath Against Drugs and Gangsterism
Addressing the inmates, the Chairman delivered a profoundly positive and inspiring message. He stated:
“To err is human, but true humanity lies in rectifying one’s mistakes. Jails serve as reformatories; you must emerge from here as transformed individuals.”
Subsequently, he administered an oath to all inmates, pledging to forever abandon the dark paths of crime, gangsterism, and drug abuse. Encouraging the prisoners, he urged them to return to society as responsible citizens after completing their sentences and to fulfill their roles constructively.
Special Initiative for the Release of Indigent Inmates:
Speaking to the press following his visit, Chairman Gaurav expressed deep concern regarding those indigent inmates who have already completed their legal sentences but remain incarcerated because they are unable to pay the fines imposed by the courts due to financial constraints. Making a major announcement to address this issue, the Chairman stated:
“I have held detailed discussions regarding this matter with Chief Apostle Ankur Yusuf Narula of the Jalandhar-based ‘Ankur Narula Ministries.’
The Ministry will provide financial assistance to help pay the outstanding fines of those destitute prisoners who are unable to settle these dues themselves.
Once these fines are paid, the path to these prisoners’ release will be cleared, enabling them to return to their families and embark upon a new, better life.”
Appreciation for the Administration and Direct Access:
The Chairman personally assured the prisoners that should they face any legitimate grievances or instances of mistreatment within the jail premises, they are free to contact him directly.
At the conclusion of the event, Chairman Jatinder Masih Gaurav highly commended the jail administration for their robust arrangements, as well as the media for their role in fostering positive change within society, and expressed his gratitude to all present. Earlier, upon his arrival at the jail complex, the Chairman was accorded a warm welcome by the prison officials.
