Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Dedicated to ‘Mamta Diwas’ (Motherhood Day), the Health Department organized 75 vaccination camps across the district at various health institutions, Anganwadi centers, neighborhoods, villages, and towns. Speaking on the occasion, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramandeep Singla stated that, in addition to routine vaccinations, vaccines were administered to protect pregnant women and young children from various chronic ailments. These camps facilitate health check-ups and awareness activities covering topics such as balanced nutrition, institutional deliveries, newborn vaccination, recording of weight and height, home-based child care services, and the prevention and treatment of non-communicable diseases like cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, and paralysis. He shared that the department conducted 75 vaccination sessions across the district, administering vaccines and conducting health check-ups for children and pregnant women. Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramandeep Singla, Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Parvjit Singh Gulati, District Vaccination Officer Dr. Haspal Sidhu, Deputy Mass Media and Information Officers Sudhir Dhir and Dr. Prabhdeep Singh Chawla, and Senior Pharmacy Officer Sunil Singla paid a special visit to the vaccination center at the local Civil Hospital to review the vaccination operations. District Vaccination Officer Dr. Haspal Sidhu noted that regular meetings and guidelines are provided to ANMs, ASHA workers, and link workers to ensure the smooth functioning of these camps and to guarantee that no pregnant woman or child misses out on vaccination. Mass media officials urged the staff to raise awareness among the public about the health facilities, schemes, and treatment services offered by the Health Department during these camps, ensuring that the maximum number of poor and needy individuals can benefit from government services. He stated that awareness material should be properly displayed at health centers and vaccination sites so that the Health Department’s message reaches every household.
