Benefits of government schemes must reach every needy person at the grassroots level: MP Sarabjit Singh Khalsa
Faridkot, June 30 (Alexander D’Souza): A crucial meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was held today under the chairmanship of Faridkot Lok Sabha MP S. Sarabjit Singh Khalsa. During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted regarding various public welfare schemes and future plans implemented by the central and state governments, as well as ongoing development works in the district. Additionally, there was an in-depth discussion on the progress made towards achieving set targets.
Review of development scheme progress:
During the meeting, MP S. Sarabjit Singh Khalsa interacted with officials to assess the district’s development status. He specifically sought progress reports on the following key schemes:
Employment and Skills: MGNREGA, Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, and Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana.
Infrastructure and Housing: Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and MP land schemes.
Health and Social Security: Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban and Rural), Jal Jeevan Mission, and National Health Mission.
Education and Agriculture: Mid-Day Meal Scheme, Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).
Rural Development: Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana.
Ensure benefits reach every citizen: MP
Issuing strict instructions to the officials, MP Khalsa noted that a significant section of society remains deprived of the benefits of these public welfare schemes.

On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Sandeep Malhotra assured the Member of Parliament that the district administration would implement all welfare schemes of the central and state governments at the grassroots level with complete sincerity. He emphasized that the administration would ensure the benefits of every government scheme reach genuine beneficiaries directly, without any discrimination.
