Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): In view of the continuously rising temperatures and the severe heatwave gripping the state, the Punjab government has taken a crucial decision in the interest of the general public. To protect citizens from the scorching sun, major changes have been implemented regarding the opening and closing hours of all Sewa Kendras (Service Centers) across the state. Now, instead of their previous schedule (9:00 AM), these Sewa Kendras will open at 7:30 AM and close at 3:30 PM. Deputy Commissioner Appeals to Citizens: Providing detailed information regarding this decision, Faridkot Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rahul Chaba stated that the government has taken this step in light of the prevailing summer season. The primary objective is to protect citizens traveling from remote areas from the intense afternoon sun and the onslaught of hot winds (loo). He has appealed to the residents of the district to visit the Sewa Kendras in accordance with the revised timings to avail themselves of government services.
