Faridkot/ Kotkapura (Alexander D’Souza): An atmosphere of enthusiasm prevailed today in the Kotkapura Assembly constituency under the ‘Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana’—a pro-people initiative of the government led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan flagged off a bus carrying devotees from village Kotsukhia, sending them off to visit various religious sites.
Wishes for a Safe Journey and a Spiritual Message:
Before flagging off the bus, Speaker Sandhwan met with all the devotees and extended his best wishes for their journey. He stated that this scheme serves as a boon for the common people of the state who, due to financial or other constraints, were previously unable to visit holy religious sites. The government’s objective is to ensure that every citizen receives an equal opportunity to connect with their faith. He appealed to the devotees to offer special prayers at these holy sites for the peace, prosperity, and ‘Chardi Kala’ (high spirits/progress) of Punjab.
A Government Committed to Public Welfare:
Speaker Sandhwan emphasized that the Punjab government remains fully committed to the welfare of the common masses. Through this scheme, the government is bearing the entire cost of travel to various renowned religious sites across the country. Residents of village Kotsukhia lauded this initiative by the government, noting that it has provided immense convenience to the elderly and the middle class.
