CPI calls for ‘Delhi Chalo’ rally on September 1 with the slogan ‘Change is Necessary’; Communist leaders state that overturning the Modi government’s anti-people and anti-national policies is the need of the hour.

-Posters released in Faridkot for the nationwide rally…
Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): The Communist Party of India (CPI) is organizing a massive nationwide rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on September 1 under the slogan ‘Change is Necessary’ (Badlav Zaroori Hai). The event aims to raise a voice against the Modi government’s anti-people and anti-national policies and to bring about change in the country’s current situation. Preparations for this historic rally kicked off today with the release of the rally poster at the local Shaheed Comrade Amolak Bhawan. Party Finance Secretary Comrade Gurcharan Singh Mann, Sukhjinder Singh Tumbarbhan (District President), Jatinder Singh Jandwala (General Secretary, All India Kisan Sabha), Comrade Veer Singh Kameana (President, MGNREGA Employees Union), Inderjit Singh Gill, Chand Singh Dod (Senior Trade Union Leader, ATK), and Balkar Singh Sahota jointly released the poster.
Unchecked Corporate Plunder and the Helpless Common Man:
Communist leaders gathered at the poster release event launched scathing political attacks on the BJP’s Modi government. They stated that while the wealth of billionaire corporate houses has skyrocketed due to 12 years of exploitative rule, the economic condition of the country’s working class—particularly laborers, farmers, and small shopkeepers—has gone from bad to worse. “Skyrocketing prices—ranging from cooking gas to essential daily commodities—have made life difficult for the common people. Unemployment is at record levels, and government hospitals and schools are struggling with a lack of basic amenities. Labor organizations are deeply concerned about the new employment scheme introduced to replace the ‘MGNREGA’ scheme, which has been the sole lifeline for millions of the rural poor for the past 20 years”: Communist leaders.
Attacks on constitutional institutions and an atmosphere of fear among minorities:
Expressing concern, the leaders stated that the ruling party is manipulating major investigative agencies, the Election Commission, the Reserve Bank, and the judiciary at its own whim, thereby eroding citizens’ trust in these institutions. Furthermore, incidents of atrocities against Dalits, Adivasis, and minorities are steadily rising, forcing them to live in an atmosphere of fear. A vigorous campaign will be conducted across villages and cities over the next two months.
CPI leaders emphasized that the party’s 100-year history is replete with struggles and unparalleled sacrifices. In these difficult and critical times for the nation, the Communist Party will not remain a passive spectator. To bring about positive change in the country’s situation, the party will launch a massive public outreach campaign in villages and cities over the next two months, culminating in a rally in Delhi on September 1.
A large number of party workers and leaders, including Jaswinder Singh Sukhanwala, Gurdeep Singh Kamina, Mandar Singh, Tarlok Singh Rajowala, Ramandeep Singh Rinku, and Sukhmander Singh Dhudhi, were present on the occasion.
