Wheat Procurement in Faridkot Mandis in Full Swing; Farmers Paid ₹854 Crore So Far… 

Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): The process of government procurement, lifting, and payment for wheat in the district’s mandis (grain markets) is proceeding with complete transparency and efficiency. Thanks to the vigilance of the administration, farmers are not facing any major difficulties in selling their produce.
Online Payments Totaling ₹854 Crore:
Sharing the latest status update, Deputy Commissioner Ms. Poonamdeep Kaur stated that, in accordance with the directives of the Punjab government, payments are being made to farmers on a priority basis. She added, “So far, a sum of ₹854 crore has been transferred online into the bank accounts of the district’s farmers in exchange for the wheat procured.” Latest Figures on Arrivals and Procurement: According to reports received as of yesterday evening, the statistical details regarding the procurement process are as follows:
Total Arrivals: 4,07,229 Metric Tonnes Total Procurement: 3,94,465 Metric Tonnes Lifting: 1,55,681 Metric Tonnes. The Deputy Commissioner clarified that while lifting operations are ongoing, strict instructions have been issued to procurement agencies to further accelerate the pace of lifting wheat from the mandis to ensure there is no shortage of space in the coming days. Robust Arrangements in Mandis:
District Food and Supply Controller, S. Gurjit Singh Deol After touring the Mandia, stated that robust arrangements-including drinking water, shade, and electricity-have been made for the convenience of the farmers. He gave an assurance that the entire cycle, from crop procurement to payment, is being completed within the stipulated timeframe so that the farmers do not have to wait for the earnings of their hard work.
