Training provided to BLOs and BLA-1s regarding Special Intensive Revision…

Faridkot, June 16 (Alexander D’Souza): Mr. Vikramjit, Sub-Divisional Magistrate-cum-Voter Registration Officer for the 89-Jaito (SC) constituency, stated that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, mandated by the Election Commission of India, is set to begin in Punjab on June 25, 2026.
In accordance with instructions issued by the Election Commission and the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab, training regarding the SIR was conducted for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) deployed at the 159 polling stations of the 89-Jaito Assembly constituency and Booth Level Agents-1 (BLA-1) appointed by recognized political parties.
He mentioned that the training was held in two batches at the Ashok Chakra Hall in the Faridkot Mini Secretariat. During the session, detailed information was provided regarding the SIR process, voter verification, scrutiny of forms, and the guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission. The training was imparted by Assembly-level Master Trainers Jagjit Singh and Sandeep Kumar. Booth Level Agents-1 from recognized political parties were also present on the occasion.
Help Desk and Toll-Free Number 1950 Launched:
Election Tehsildar Ms. Poonam Sidhu stated that help desks and grievance redressal cells have been established at the offices of the concerned Electoral Registration Officers and the District Election Office to provide information regarding the SIR. Additionally, information can be obtained by contacting the toll-free number 1950. She appealed to all citizens and voters of the district to extend their full cooperation in the Special Intensive Revision process and to ensure the verification of their voter details.
