5th Blood Donation Camp Held at Faridkot Government College in Memory of Martyrs; -40 Units of Blood Collected…Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): The 5th grand blood donation camp, dedicated to the Martyrdom Day of the immortal martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev-who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence-was successfully organized at the ‘Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College of Education,’ Faridkot. Held under the supervision of Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan, the camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. Pooja Bhalla (Principal, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Government College, Kotkapura).
Various Organizations Join Hands:
Providing details about the event, Camp Coordinator Prof. Birinderjit Singh stated that this noble initiative was the result of the joint efforts of the college’s Red Ribbon Club, the NSS (National Service Scheme) Department, and the Old Students Association (OSA). The ‘S. Jaswinder Singh Dhillon Memorial Welfare Society (Regd.), Punjab’ extended special cooperation in organizing this event. A team from Guru Gobind Singh Medical Hospital, led by Dr. Harjot Kaur, successfully collected a total of 40 units of blood.
Youths Inspired:
During the program, speakers emphasized the importance of social service and patriotism:
Dr. Pooja Bhalla and Amandeep Singh Baba (Chairman, Market Committee): They apprised the students of the significance of blood donation, describing it as the ‘Greatest Donation’ (Mahadan).
Gurjit Singh Harry Dhillon and Suresh Arora:
These social activists inspired the youth to follow in the footsteps of the martyrs and to contribute to nation-building by staying away from drugs.
Dr. Ratan Lal:
He set a personal example for the youth by donating blood himself and also took charge of the registration process.
Felicitation Ceremony:
The entire staff-including Prof. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Rupinderjit Kaur, and Prof. Rajeshwari Devi-made a commendable contribution toward making the camp a success. At the conclusion of the program, the blood donors, the medical team, and the dignitaries present were honored with certificates. Prominent city figures, writers, journalists, and a large number of students were present on this occasion.
