Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): The Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony for the academic session 2025-26 was organized with great pomp and grandeur at Desh Bhagat Pandit Chetan Dev Government College of Education, Faridkot, under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan.
Dr. Jaswant Singh Zafar, the Honorable Director of the Department of Languages, Punjab, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Upinder Sharma, former Jail Minister of Punjab, attended as the Special Guest. The program was presided over by the renowned musician and College Principal, Dr. Rajesh Mohan.
Cultural Performances Captivate the Audience:
The program commenced with a sacred hymn presented by the students of B.Ed. (Part I). Following this, the students won the hearts of the assembled gathering with a soulful rendition of Dr. Surjit Patar’s timeless composition, ‘Jaga De Momabattiyan’ (Light the Candles). Registrar Prof. Ranjit Singh Bajwa extended a formal welcome to the guests, while Prof. Sandeep Singh presented the college’s annual report, sharing details of the academic and co-curricular achievements throughout the year.
Chief Guest’s Message—”Recognize Your Inner Strength”:
Inspiring the students, Chief Guest Dr. Jaswant Singh Zafar stated that recognizing one’s inner strength is imperative for achieving success. He called upon the students to work hard and fulfill the dreams of their parents. Special Guest Mr. Upinder Sharma also encouraged the students to prioritize holistic development alongside their academic education.
Geetika Gupta Named ‘Best Student’:
During the ceremony, students who demonstrated outstanding performance in various fields were honored with trophies and certificates:
Best Student: Geetika Gupta, a student of B.Ed. Part II, was conferred with the prestigious title of ‘Best Student’ for her all-round performance.
Roll of Honor: Awarded to students who secured distinguished positions in academic and co-curricular activities. Academic Merit: Meritorious students who secured the first, second, and third positions in the examinations held in November 2025 and April 2026 were felicitated.
Other Achievements: Winners in the fields of sports, social service, blood donation camps, and the Youth Festival were also awarded.
Special Honors:
On behalf of the college management, the Chief Guests—Dr. Jaswant Singh Zafar and Mr. Upinder Sharma—were conferred with the ‘Gurmukhi Special Honor.’ Additionally, Principal Dr. Rajesh Mohan and Dr. Balbir Kaur were also specially honored for their dedicated services.
The entire staff-including Dr. Rupinderjit Kaur, Prof. Rajeshwari Devi, and Prof. Jasbir Kaur—made a significant contribution toward making the ceremony a resounding success. The responsibility of anchoring the event was handled with great proficiency by Prof. Birinderjit Singh, Dr. Ratan Lal, and Prof. Manwinder Kaur. Dignitaries from the city and parents of the students were present in large numbers on this occasion.
