A major decision or a massive blunder by Punjab’s historic party?
-Outrage within the Christian community over the appointment of an accused in the Chandigarh church scam as Chairman;
-Intelligence failure?
-Why was no background check conducted prior to the appointment? Isaac Nair levels serious allegations against the party leadership…
Chandigarh/Punjab (Alexander D’Souza): A fresh controversy has erupted in Punjab politics following serious questions raised regarding a recent Chairman appointment made by a highly prestigious and historic political party-one that predates 1947. Significant resentment is evident among the Christian community and the party’s own loyal cadres regarding this decision.
Isaac Nair, one of the most senior members of Christ Church (Sector-18, Chandigarh), has termed this appointment a “massive betrayal” of both the party and the public. He has raised serious questions about the party’s functioning and its intelligence team.
What is the entire matter?
According to Isaac Nair, a senior member associated with Chandigarh’s prestigious Christ Church (Sector-18), the individual entrusted by the party with the significant responsibility of Chairman does not have a clean record. It is alleged that this person has failed to provide any account for ₹40 lakh belonging to a prominent church organization in Chandigarh.
There is deep anger within the community over how such an old and respected party could appoint an individual-accused of misappropriating funds from his own religious institution-to such a high-ranking position without conducting due diligence.
“This is an outright betrayal of the Christian community. How could the party’s intelligence wing be so weak that, prior to the appointment, they did not even get a whiff of this person’s background or the serious matter involving ₹40 lakh?” – Isaac Nair, Senior Church Member (Christ Church, Sector-18, Chandigarh). Adverse impact on the party’s future:
Political analysts and prominent members of the Christian community believe that the party will derive no political benefit from this tainted figure; on the contrary, the party’s image within the Christian community will suffer significant damage.
‘There is still time for the party to rectify its mistake’
Raising his voice for the betterment of the Church and the Christian community, Isaac Nair has urged the party high command to reconsider this decision while there is still time. He has demanded that the party immediately rethink its stance on this individual, replace this controversial figure, and give an opportunity to someone honest and committed to the community, thereby serving the best interests of both the party and the public.
