Faridkot (Alexander D’Souza): Acting under the “Zero Tolerance” policy against drug trafficking—initiated by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Shri Bhagwant Singh Mann—the Faridkot Police and the District Administration have executed a major joint operation. As part of this drive, illegal structures constructed by drug smugglers in Jeevan Singh Nagar, Kotkapura, were demolished. The “Yellow Claw” Strikes the Smugglers’ Stronghold: Amidst heavy police security, illegal structures built by the family of Jaswinder Singh alias ‘Kaka’ in Jeevan Singh Nagar, Kotkapura (under the jurisdiction of Kotkapura City Police Station), were razed to the ground. Officials present at the scene clarified that this family possesses a long-standing criminal record:— Anmol Singh alias ‘Gunnu’: 10 cases of drug trafficking and 2 cases of theft registered against him.— Gagan (Brother): 4 cases registered under charges of drug trafficking and other relevant sections.— Kamlesh Rani (Mother): 5 criminal cases registered.— Pradeep Singh alias ‘Sunny’ (Brother-in-law): 2 cases of drug trafficking registered against him.
Shri Amrit Lal, Executive Officer (EO) of the Kotkapura Municipal Council, stated that multiple notices regarding these illegal structures had been issued to the family; however, as no remedial action was taken by them, the administration decided to proceed with the demolition using bulldozers.
